The Disability Services Centre can provide:

Training and advice on

  • General Disability Awareness
  • Disability Standards for Education 2005
  • Disclosure of Disability
  • Inclusive Education Practices
  • Physical Access Issues

Student education access plans

which involves

  • Verification of disability (appropriate medical documentation required)
  • Assessment of support needs
  • Arrangement of adjustments such as:
    • Note-taking
    • Special (alternative) Exam Arrangements
    • Equipment and Software Loans
    • Alternative Formats
  • Support by way of advocacy
  • Advice on independence in learning and disclosure of disability
  • Advice on physical access issues on campus
  • Advice and support for individuals (staff, students, prospective students) on disability issues.
  • Referral to other services
  • Other support as required.

Facilitate access to

  • Willing and Able Mentoring Program (WAM)
  • Stepping Into Program
